As our part-time Catering / Events Coordinator, you will assist in all aspects of planning, coordinating and executing a variety of events. Job Description


  • Coordinate and assist in the planning and execution of various events at The Hub (owned and operated by the Volunteer Center), ensuring a smooth operation and a positive experience for attendees.
  • This role includes assisting with catering needs, which may be prepared in-house or using outside partners. ServSafe certification required (we’re willing to help the right person get certified).
  • Oversee inventory management for supplies and ingredients, ensuring timely stocking.
  • Collaborate with vendors, suppliers, and our Lead Volunteer Baker to secure necessary resources for events.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations in the kitchen and event spaces, prioritizing the well-being of volunteers and participants.
  • Assist in creating event timelines, schedules, and coordinating staff and volunteers as needed.
  • Handle customer inquiries and requests during events, providing excellent service.
  • Monitor and control event expenses within budgetary constraints, maximizing resources for the volunteer center’s initiatives.

Job Requirements

  • Proven experience in event coordination; catering experience strongly desired
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Knowledge of food regulations and best practices
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends
  • Problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt to changing situations
  • Team player with a positive attitude
